The Abbey Resort To Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend

FONTANA, Wis. - April 22, 2015 - PRLog -- The Abbey Resort and Avani Spa invites guests to enjoy the unofficial start of summer by observing Memorial Day on the beautiful lakeside property, the weekend beginning Friday, May 22 and lasting through Memorial Day on Monday, May 25.

Patriotic and family-friendly events are planned throughout the weekend, including a special Luminary Tribute to our nation’s fallen heroes the evening of Sunday, May 24 on Harbor Lawn overlooking Abbey Harbor. Also on Sunday evening is a build-your-own ice cream sundae bar complete with patriotic music and decorations. Proceeds from both events will support the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that seeks to raise awareness about, and support the needs of, injured service members.

In addition to Memorial Day observances, The Abbey has family-friendly activities and events planned throughout the weekend such as movies, crafts, lawn games, snacks, and a MadScience Show at which a Mad Science Professor will demonstrate the “Sounds of Science” with captivating experiments, laughter, and learning. Starlight S’mores will be complimentarily offered to all resort guests both Friday and Saturday evenings at a classic bonfire overlooking Lake Geneva. And on Sunday morning, resort guests are invited to choose between 1k and 2k race courses set up for the Fun Run, Rock & Roll, a patriotic jaunt with music, refreshments, and an appearance by the resort’s mascot Abbey the St. Bernanrd at the finish line.
