Elant Community Health Services Appoints New Board Of Directors Chair

NEWBURGH, N.Y. - April 22, 2015 - PRLog -- (Newburgh, NY) April 20, 2015 –Elant Community Health Services – a non-profit organization comprised of Elant Choice, Inc., Elant at Home, and a Social Day Program – has named longtime Hudson Valley business development leader, John MacEnroe, as its new board chair. The appointment comes with the non-profit’s recent separation from Elant, Inc. to focus its efforts on its Managed Long-Term Care Plan (MLTCP) and Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA), and to further expand its catalog of other forward-thinking, community-based services.

Currently, MacEnroe is the Director of Business Development at the Hudson Valley Technology Development Center, where he has worked to grow the region’s manufacturing and small technology company base. He is a recognized thought leader throughout the region in economic development, focusing on long-term systemic approaches and collaboration.

“John’s proven track record in business development is due to his attention to collaboration, and his skills in the fields of government and planning,” said Sylvia McTigue, the organization’s recently appointed President and CEO. “It is the same skill set that is going to help Elant Community Health Services flourish under his leadership.”

MacEnroe formerly led the Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation through one of the most successful periods of its history. Under his leadership the manufacturing base of the county dramatically strengthened.

Between 1988 and 2009, MacEnroe worked as Director of Public Policy with Bell Atlantic, and most recently as Director of State Government Relations for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is retired United States Army, with nearly a decade of service abroad and in the States. After beginning his civilian career, he continued to serve in the Connecticut Army National Guard and the Army Reserves, from which he retired as a Major in 2001. He holds his BA in Political Science and International Relations from St. Bonaventure University.
