Dallas Pet Expo Returns to Dallas Market Hall; Features Gander the Service Dog

Amazing Pet Expos, producers of 100 Pet Expos since 2009, returns to Dallas Market Hall with an emphasis on pop culture and entertainment features; Meet special guest Lon “Veteran Traveler” Hodge and Gander the Service Dog.

DALLAS - April 22, 2015 - PRLog -- Four legged and furry friends get ready! Amazing Pet Expos returns to the Dallas Market Hall in Dallas, TX on May 9th, for one day only.  Fresh off their 100th expo, the Dallas Pet Expo features local and national pet advocates, including Lon “Veteran Traveler” and Gander the Service Dog, advocates for Service Animals and rescue pets of all kinds.

Lon Hodge, a veteran who served in the military from 1973 until 1981, lived with crippling anxiety due to PTSD after transitioning into civilian life. He didn’t find relief until he discovered a similar organization to Soldier’s Best Friend: Freedom Service Dogs in Colorado. Since being connected with Gander in 2012, Hodge has travelled the country, connected military members with animals through PACKs (Planned Acts of Community Kindness, an idea of Hodge’s), and helped multiple people who suffer from PTSD gain a voice through social media. Hodge and Gander will be available all day to meet and greet fans, take photos, and talk about the importance of service animals in military and veteran members’ everyday lives.

While national spokesperson Shorty Rossi won’t be in attendance this year, he says that, "Guests are always amazed at what these Amazing Pet Expos have to offer. An Amazing Pet Expo is a great socialization tool for your pets.  And seeing so many kinds of different pet types and breeds at one event is really something to see! People might decide to go to a pet expo to just have fun with their pet, but they end up leaving with new knowledge on how to be the best pet owner possible - and they can take what they learned into their community and make a difference for all animals.”

The Dallas Pet Expo is free to the public and opens on Saturday, May 9th from 10am to 6pm. The expo features opportunities for attendees to explore nearly 100 exhibitors, the latest animal sports, education about exotic animals, a Petfinder.com mega-adoption area with more than 200 rescue pets available for adoption. Low-cost immunizations and discounted micro-chipping courtesy of Community Pet Outreach, and free nail trims are also available for all the furry friends who need them.  Attendees can learn about pet care, volunteerism, grooming, pet behavior & training, traveling with your pet,  how you can make a difference, different types of pets/breeds, veterinarian FAQ, fun activities for you and your pet and much more.

This free, indoor and air-conditioned event attracts more than 11,000 attendees along with their furry, feathered and reptilian pals who are looking to enjoy a new and one-of-a-kind experience where all pets can enjoy a fun day out with their pet parent(s). All well-behaved pets are welcome, as long as they’re on a fixed lead (or in a carrier) and have proof of age-appropriate rabies vaccines.

“We’re so excited to return to the Dallas pet community,” says Ethan Barnett, Vice President of Community Partnerships for Amazing Pet Expos, “A huge part of our initiative is to help people become better pet companions, and we look forward to meeting all the amazing pet parents in Dallas and to making an impact in pets lives across the region.  Whether you would like to shop, learn, play or adopt – you can do any one of those at the 2015 Dallas Pet Expo.”

The 2015 Dallas Pet Expo is powered by Soffront and produced by Amazing Expos, a leading event production company which currently produces more than 30 large-scale pet expos across the United States.  Amazing Pet Expos has produced over 100 pet expos since 2009.
