Follow on Google News | "Creative Arts Starts Laughing" Fundraiser May 14 in Glastonbury, ConnecticutA comedy night will be hosted to benefit the mission of the non-profit Creative Arts for Developing Minds, Inc. in Glastonbury which provides music, art and movement activities for children 2 to 12 in foster care.

John Larocchia, chief of FDNY Hazardous Materials Company 1 and Squad 288 in Maspeth Queens that suffered the loss of 19 brothers on September 11, 2001, founded Laughter Saves Lives as a way of honoring those individuals who gave their lives to save others and a way to “NEVER FORGET”. With over 25 years of stand-up comedy experience, John began to heal and feel “normal” again when he was able to “laugh again”. Chris Roach, born and raised in New York, has brought his unique and self-deprecating sense of humor to The Borgata in Atlantic City and Caroline’s on Broadway. He is known for his work on television commercials, and has appeared on Comedy Central, the Michael J. Fox Show and had a recurring role on the soap opera One Life to Live. Stacy Kendro has been performing for many years making observations and connecting with her audiences. She brings a high degree of energy as she shares her views on being married, being single and going to college. Stacy has performed at the Boston Comedy Festival, the Marshall’s Women of Comedy Show with Carolyn Rhea, on Last Comic Standing and with the late Joan Rivers. Creative Arts for Developing Minds, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides combined music, art and movement activities for children ages 2 to 12 in foster care. Nan Arnstein, founder of Creative Arts, Inc., explained, “Through one hour weekly classes for eight weeks in a safe, inclusive and inviting environment, these activities strive to help foster children increase their self-esteem, develop a sense of community and learn to use the creative arts as a means of expression. Children in foster care are at risk of developing behavioral and emotional issues as a result of their circumstances.
