Art to beat Cancer for Children's Medical Center Research Institute 2015

DALLAS - April 21, 2015 - PRLog -- Dallas art enthusiasts and philanthropists are invited to attend the first Art to Beat Cancer event benefiting Children’s Medical Center Research Institute at UT Southwestern (CRI) May 8, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m.at the Miller Special Event Center in Moody Coliseum at Southern Methodist University.

SMU alumnus Doyle Glass will host the inaugural event, which honors his late wife, Kim Hazelwood Glass. The event, previously held in Louisville, Ky., has raised $250,000 for cancer research to date. The Kim Hazelwood Glass Endowment will match all sales from works of art sold at the event. Proceeds will go directly to cancer research at the CRI. During the event, guests can participate in a live auction for three pieces of elegant artwork. A silent auction will take place immediately after the live auction and light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served.

Prior to the event, an online auction featuring over 70 pieces of art from acclaimed artists will be available at the Bidding for Good website. The online auction will end at 8:00 p.m. May 8. Online bidding is currently open.
