James Harden Named Hickok Belt(R) Award Winner for March 2015

Rochester, NY - Houston Rockets guard James Harden has been named the Hickok Belt(R) Award winner for the month of March 2015. Voting was conducted by a select panel of members of the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA). Harden earned the honors after a month in which he further strengthened his case for being included in the NBA's MVP conversation by averaging 28.3 points, 7.1 assists and 5.5 rebounds while shooting .316 from 3-point range. Harden's performance included scoring a career-high 50 points versus the Denver Nuggets on March 19.

Other finalists for the month of March in order of how the NSSA voters ranked them included: Dallas Seavey (dog sled racing), Jonathan Toews (hockey), Mikaela Shiffrin (skiing), Devin Dubnyk (hockey), Kevin Harvick (auto racing), Novak Djokovic (tennis), Jimmy Walker (golf), Rafael Nadal (tennis), and So Yeon Ryu (golf).

Harden's selection as the Hickok Belt(R) Award winner for the month of March 2015 recognizes him as the "best of the best" in professional sports for the month and makes him the second candidate eligible to receive the overall Hickok Belt(R) Award for 2015, joining Tom Brady who won the award in both January and February.
