PHILADELPHIA - April 19, 2015 - PRLog -- CoolNerd LLC is launching the first dedicated 3D Printing Marketplace, where consumers can purchase 3D printers, filaments, parts & accessories, cad designs, and products.

CoolNerd, originally an electronics & accessories business is now bringing its expertise in e-commerce into the 3D printing community. The marketplace aims to take advantage of shopping engines, search engines, social networks, and video marketing to attract current and potential 3D printing consumers. The overall goal is to give 3d printing consumers choices of products and increase revenues for sellers.

Who can sell in the marketplace?

3D printing manufacturers & resellers of printers, parts & accessories, scanners, pens, filaments, and printed products (such as toys, parts, devices, and more) 3D Printing Artist who sell 3D printed sculptures and other works of art. CAD Designers who sell STL CAD Designs to the 3D printing community.

What is the difference between CoolNerd's marketplace vs Amazon or Ebay?

CoolNerd is 100% 3D printing. Non-3D printing related products are not allowed. Amazon and Ebay do have a 3D printing section, it is small and does not give consumers a true variety of options. The goal is to give consumers a variety of options through the platform. Consumers in the marketplace will have an opportunity to save money on future purchases by earning points and referral fees, features that Amazon and Ebay does not offer to consumers. Consumers also have an option to ask questions to sellers, which will be public. The aim is to increase efficiency and sales. In the coming months, we will be reaching out to manufacturers and resellers to give the marketplace a trial run.

What are the fees associated with becoming a CoolNerd seller?

We offer two seller accounts.

A no monthly fee accounts with a 99 cent per sale + 15% sale commission.

A $39.95 per month, after a 6 month free trial account with a 8% sale commission. There are optional fees for additional exposure on our website.

Why should sellers adopt the CoolNerd marketplace vs having their own website?

To operate an e-commerce website can be expensive. Most of the expenditures outside of the cost of goods is marketing. Unless your product is a hot seller, you are spending 15-50% of your cost of sale in marketing alone. If your cost of goods is 50% of your sale price, when you add PayPal or credit card fees 3% fees, then your cost of sale is 53% before marketing and operational cost. CoolNerd's 10 year e-commerce experience allows us to keep marketing cost low and increase the bottom line of our sellers.

How do sellers get paid?

Sellers are paid directly paid by PayPal. Our main goal is to increase sales, not act as accountants. In addition, our commissions are automatically deducted by PayPal during the sale. We are also working on adding stripe marketplace into the platform which will have the same feature as the PayPal payment platform.

How fast can potential sellers begin to sell in the marketplace?

After 48 hours of sign up, sellers can begin putting products for sale. For bulk uploads, products can be emailed or uploaded through our form. We will upload them manually and sellers can make any changes needed to make sure their products look presentable.

Does your marketplace support used products for sale?

At the current time, we are not allowing used products to be sold in our marketplace.

Does your marketplace support non-USA sellers?

Right now, we only cater to US sellers and buyers. We will consider international sellers as our marketplace grows to accommodate international buyers.
