STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - April 18, 2015 - PRLog -- Stop & Stor is celebrating its 8th year of involvement in New York City’s Adopt a Highway Program announcing a donation of approximately $66,000 dollars to the program in 2014. Since 2007, Stop & Stor has donated a total of $334,780 dollars to the program.

Stop & Stor sponsors the cleanliness upkeep of 7 highway segments in Queens along thoroughfares such as the Grand Central Parkway; the Van Wyck Expressway; the Long Island Expressway; and the Belt Parkway. Additionally, one location in Staten Island along the Staten Island Expressway, one location in Brooklyn along the Gowanus Expressway, and one location in Long Island along the Long Island Expressway, are segments of highways that are maintained by Stop & Stor through their involvement in the Adopt a Highway Program.

“Stop & Stor Self-Storage has been an active participant in the New York Adopt a Highway Program this year and in the past. They are dedicated to keeping the community beautiful and clean, “ stated the Adopt a Highway Maintenance Corporation.

“What began as a donation of $ 6,000 dollars to this worthwhile program has grown to a donation of $66,000 dollars in 2014. Our commitment to beautifying the neighborhoods of our great City has been unwavering and we are very proud of that. We look forward to continuing our commitment to Adopt a Highway as an integral partner in its efforts. At Stop & Stor our benevolent and corporate philosophy always centers around – people, places, and things” said Jeff Henick, Chief Operating Officer of Stop & Stor.

The Adopt-a-Highway program is a tax-deductible opportunity for proud New Yorkers to give back to their community by ensuring clean and beautiful roadways in the New York City area. All highways under NYC DOT jurisdiction are included in the Adopt-A-Highway program. Signs indicating who is maintaining a particular area are placed on the adopted roadway segment.

The Adopt a Highway program is one example of Stop &Stor’s philosophy of giving back to the community. Through the Stop & Stor Charitable Fund, the company has given back to every neighborhood where it does business. The fund supports a diverse range of organizations with a major focus on education, arts and culture, community development, humanitarian, government, animal protection, beautification of parks, and medical research. The fund has given over 1.8 million dollars in donations since it began in 2002.
