A Forum on Finanical Well-Being for Women - Part of National Money Smart Week

DETROIT - April 17, 2015 - PRLog -- Detroit, MI – March 31, 2015 –- The emotional, cultural, familial, personal and societal issues impacting financial well-being of women will be addressed at a free Michigan’s Money Smart Week® event, Women’s Financial Conference,12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  on Saturday, April 25, at The Charles H. Wright Museum.  Part of a national financial education initiative, this is one of more than 300 free, non-commercial financial education events taking place in Michigan during Money Smart Week, April 18-25, 2015.

“Detroit Unity Temple is demonstrating real leadership by organizing this Women’s Conference,” says Kelly Masters, Michigan Chairwoman for Money Smart Week.“In a time when women continue to be squeezed by simultaneously caring for their children and aging loved ones, experience high levels of stress that impacts their physical health, continue to make less money on average than their male counterparts, and are often not focusing on their own long-term financial needs, the holistic approach of this conference is timely and right on the mark.”

Detroit Unity Temple Pastor Gregory Guice adds, The strength of our church, our communities and society at large, relies on the well-being of our members. Women tend to be the caregivers of others, and have unique needs for information and resources. By hosting this financial conference focusing on the money issues faced by women, Detroit Unity Temple will help fill this need”. We are delighted to partner with The Charles H. Wright Museum to bring this conference to metro Detroit.

An esteemed female panel of experts will address many of the financial situations uniquely pertaining to women such as:  money and emotions, children, parents, estate planning, retirement, employment options, health and more.  Financial Advisor & Author Gail Perry-Mason will be keynoting the event.  Also, experts from Michigan State University Extension, Henry Ford Hospital, Family Harmony: Eldercare and Caregiver Solutions, The Law Office of Adrienne Watts, One Step Ahead, Inc., Thomas Financial Group, Shelburne Development Company will share their expertise and answer participant questions. Additionally, participants will have a wealth of financial educational materials available at the concurrent Financial Education Resource Exhibit thataccompanies the event.
