Leading Healthcare Policy and Economics Executive Named SVP at South Nassau

OCEANSIDE, N.Y. - April 15, 2015 - PRLog -- South Nassau Communities Hospital has named William Allison, a veteran hospital executive who recently served as a Vice President for the state’s leading healthcare industry association in Albany, as its Senior Vice President of Health Policy and Planning.

In his role, Mr. Allisonis responsible for directing the development of South Nassau’s strategic planning process, as well as serving as the hospital’s primary contact for state and federal policy initiatives.  Prior to joining South Nassau, Mr. Allison served as Vice President of Economics, Finance, and Information for the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS).  He was a trusted advisor to downstate hospitals following Superstorm Sandy as they worked to assess financial impacts, file FEMA claims, and rebuild.

Mr. Allison has extensive, high-level experience in health care finance and delivery in New York State. In the 1970's he was chief financial officer (CFO) and chief executive officer (CEO) at Lutheran Hospital in Brooklyn, and subsequently served as vice president of financial planning at St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Center; from 1980 to 1985 Mr. Allison previously held the position of controller at South Nassau Communities Hospital; and from 1985 to 2010, he served in variety of executive capacities at Catholic Health Services of Long Island, including hospital chief operating officer, CFO, and CEO.

Mr. Allison received his B.S. and M.B.A. from St. John’s University, and his M.P.A. from New York University.
