Hispanic Engineer and IT Magazine Recognizes Top Latinas in Information Technology

By: Career Communications Group

April 15, 2015 - PRLog -- Hispanic Engineer and Information Technology (HE&IT) magazine will feature “Top Latinas in Information Technology” and “10 Women Making it in IT” in its upcoming spring issue.

HE&IT profiles a group of women from tech giants including AT&T, IBM, and Intel, who have worked their way into top executive-level positions. Despite recent reports that in 2013 only two percent of the computing workforce were Latinas, Hispanic women continue to make strides in the IT workforce and are breaking barriers within their companies daily. Women are starting approximately 1,288 companies each day, up from 602 in 2011-2012, and Latina women own 36 percent of all companies owned by minority women in America.

HE&IT magazine will highlight 10 women who have founded organizations with a mission to help their community. Some of the women included on this list are Angelica Perez-Litwin, founder of Latinas Think Big platform, and Luz Rivas, founder of DIY (Do-It-Yourself) Girls.
