World Event in Philly, creates opportunity for Southern Ocean County

SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - April 14, 2015 - PRLog -- As Philadelphia prepares for one of the most anticipated visits in recent history, Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce has also begun alerting members to get the message out to both families coming to take part in the conference, and Philadelphia area homeowners who are renting their properties to attendees for the week. "September is one of the best times of the year in the Long Beach Island Region, stated Lori Pepenella, Destination Marketing & Communications Director for the century old Chamber of Commerce, "It offers up beautiful weather, less crowds and a variety of price ranges for vacation rental homes, motels, inns and campgrounds."

Held every three years and sponsored by the Pontifical Council for the Family, the World Meeting of Families is the world’s largest Catholic gathering of families taking place September 22-27, with the Holy Father scheduled to visit September 26-27 2015. The Philadelphia event is anticipated to be the largest, with projections surpassing the 2012 Milan Meeting which saw drew hundreds of thousands to the Italian city with 7,000 people at the conference, 350,000 people at the Festival of Families, and a total of about one million people at the Papal Mass the Sunday following the event.  With increased demand on hotels and housing for families, the Southern Ocean County Chamber is coordinating with members who have lodging for travelers or those who have made arrangements for their home to be used during the weeklong celebration.

"We are working with our member realtors on creating portfolios both online and for our visitor center for interested parties. Considering the close proximity if commuting to Philadelphia for the World Meeting or to have a wonderful place to come if they are planning to lease their home out for the event." added Pepenella,  " We are a perfect fit, with Chowderfest extending our post Labor Day season into early October, there will be plenty of businesses ready to serve the last week of September".
