Follow on Google News | American Cowboy magazine receives 2015 Western Heritage Award for Outstanding Magazine ArticleBy: Active Interest Media Equine Network “Of course, receiving the Western Heritage Award is extremely humbling,” said Welch in response to the recognition. “However, I’m more humbled by the chance to tell the story of these ingenious and tenacious ranchers. They were smart in their tactics, steadfast in their approach, and committed to save their land. Their story serves as an example to anyone facing any kind of challenge. Some might say that the cowboy has become merely a symbol—even a myth. But the men and women in this story prove that the American cowboy is alive and well, still pointing the herd toward greener pastures.” Benjie Lemon, Publisher of American Cowboy, added, “the magazine is extremely proud to be recognized as the recipient of this prestigious award. Specifically, Bob Welch is most deserving. We’re extremely thankful to have him guiding American Cowboy and championing the messages the title delivers in the marketplace about our value-driven, Western way of life. We’re humbled by this honor, and again, thankful to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum for their recognition of Bob Welch’s story and all of the American Cowboy team’s efforts.” As a result of this accomplishment, “Not for Sale” is reprinted in the 2015 American Cowboy special collector’s edition, Code of the West. The issue hit stands April 7, 2015. Welch will be presented with the award on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Patrick Wayne and Ethan Wayne will be the Masters of Ceremonies for the event.
