BERWYN, Ill. - April 14, 2015 - PRLog -- 2-Day conference will focus on enhancing educational environments for students and increased achievement

Berwyn South School District 100 (http://www.bsd100.org/www/Berwyn/site/hosting/pd/index.html) is proud to announce its first annual iEngage EdTech Conference (http://www.iengage-berwyn.com). This one-of-a-kind, two-day event will showcase the district’s nationally recognized 1:1 Wireless Device program. This EdTech conference is open to all educators (http://www.eventbrite.com/e/iengage-berwyn-edtech-conference-tickets-13631436995?ref=ebtnebtckt) and community members interested in learning about the District’s program and best practices used to enhance the educational environment for students.  During the two-day conference visitors will hear from three empowering keynote speakers. They are:

*John Antonetti is author of the book, Writing as a Measure and Model of Thinking, which provides practical tools applicable in all subject areas. In 2006, he was a co-founder of Colleagues on Call with business partner Jim Garver. Together they created Look 2 Learning, a learner focused walk-through protocol; Lessons 4 Learning, an online program for designing instruction; and PLC 4 Real, a framework for effective collaboration.

*Carl Hooker serves as the Director for Innovative and Digital Learning in the Eanes Independent School District in Austin, TX.  As Director, he spearheaded the launch of the LEAP program (Learning and Engaging through Access and Personalization) which put 1:1 iPads in the hands of all K-12 students at Eanes. Carl is a member of the Apple Distinguished Educator class of 2013.

*Kevin Honeycutt grew up in a low-income household and attended school in various cities across the country. He collected powerful educational experiences during those times, which continue to influence him in his work with educators. He spent thirteen years teaching art K-12 in public school and for seventeen years spent summers leading creative adventure camps for kids of all ages. Kevin is considered one of the leaders in the field of educational technology integration in K–12 schools.

In addition to the keynotes, attendees will be able to participate in:

*Site visits to Berwyn South School District 100’s 6 elementary and 2 middle schools to see first hand the 1:1 wireless device program in a collaborative classroom environment.

*Discussions led by District 100 teachers and students on their experiences in a 1:1 wireless education environment.
