ATLANTA - April 14, 2015 - PRLog -- CureNFwithJack is proud to announce it is now officially a public charity with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Contributions donated to CureNFwithJack since April 2014 are fully tax-deductible. CureNFwithJack is also now eligible to apply for government and foundation grants, which will further broaden its access to resources and strengthen its ability to raise funds for neurofibromatosis (NF) research.

"Obtaining 501(c)(3) status allows us to expand fundraising activities and fully realize our goals as a charitable organization," remarked CureNFwithJack co-founder Jake Burke. "We have worked hard to achieve this nationally recognized status and plan utilize it to its full potential to aid NF research.”

Jake Burke is the father of Jack Burke, the child after whom the charity is named and who is currently fighting neurofibromatosis (NF). NF is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves anywhere in the body, and is one of the most common neurogenetic diseases affecting adults and children.  NF is unbelievably common, affecting 1 in every 3,000 births, yet it is still widely unknown. Currently, there is no cure or effective treatment for NF.

The mission of CureNFwithJack is to find a cure for neurofibromatosis through advocacy and raising funds for research.  Central to its goals is the involvement of and support from individuals who are not affected by NF.  It is the hope of the organization that creating awareness, bringing people together, and supporting the medical community in its research endeavors will lead to the day that NF no longer exists.

CureNFwithJack raises money through donations and events like their upcoming 4th Annual CureNFwithJack Golf Tournament on June 15, 2015, at The Manor Golf Club in Milton, Ga. (http://curenfwithjack.com/golf/4th-annual-curenfwithjack-...) The funds collected will go directly to support important NF clinical research initiatives.
