LAS VEGAS - April 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Gene Woods and Michelle “Roxy” Davis, the Founders of the World Center of Broadcast Media, a live streaming television network have created a very simple and effective business model. The network is currently broadcasting weekly shows at the website wcobm.com from the Gene Woods Racing Experience just off the Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Our goal in developing the WCOBM has always been to deliver the best quality programming with extreme simplicity,” Woods said. “From the beginning, we had a vision of how we wanted it to look and operate and the key element is getting it done with very few steps. The WCOBM is a unique service in the Internet broadcast industry because viewers can go on their mobile devices and watch their favorite shows with just a couple of clicks.”

With Davis’ background as a talk radio host, the couple initially considered creating an Internet radio station. Ultimately, the challenge of developing a complete content delivery network that included a visual aspect intrigued them and they began to explore the possibility of presenting shows via live video streaming. The process of developing the network’s software took more than a year and the cost of building their own server base was one of their biggest concerns.

“Someone told me that creating our own content delivery network was something that couldn’t be done and I just couldn’t accept that,” Woods said. “We just stayed focused on the concept of developing a platform that would allow potential clients to produce complete shows at a reasonable rate. My lifetime friend and software engineer Tim Torres was instrumental in helping us with the technological aspect of the WCOBM. With good people behind you and the right connections there’s nothing that you can’t do.”

Much of the exposure and views that shows on the wcobm.com receive is based on interaction through social media outlets. Show hosts and guests promote their appearances within their social media networks and viewers can instantly communicate with them during broadcasts by joining chat lines on the network’s website.

“High social media awareness and interaction is the most important thing for the promotion of shows on our network,” Woods said.

Would-be Internet television stars can host their own shows for just $200 per hour. The cost includes production, broadcasting and archiving. Show hosts also receive customized websites and opportunities to promote themselves at WCOBM-sponsored events on a regular basis.

The studio at the Gene Woods Racing Experience is the beta test site for the network. Woods and Davis are also set to develop WCOBM studios on Fremont Street in Las Vegas and at Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood, California.

“Our vision is to create WCOBM studios in the entertainment capitals of the world,” Woods said. “This network is a part of the evolution of television. We want to become the “Q-Tip” of the Internet television industry.”
