The Western Region of Sigma Gamma Rho Celebrates 63 Years of Service at Regional Con

The Western Region of Sigma Gamma Rho Celebrates 63 Years of Service to the Community at Regional Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.
 
April 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Phoenix, AZ-- On April, 16, 2015 over 200 members of the international service organization Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated will convene at the Sheraton Crescent Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona to celebrate 63 years of commitment to enhancing the quality of life within the community. Vanessa Power Anderson, Ph. D., the Regional Syntaktes has selected “Uniting Communities for Growth, Partnerships, and Service” as the theme for this year’s conference and celebration. As a result, all workshops and meetings held at the conference will focus on the promotion of education and leadership.

Several of the conference events are open to the general public.  On Friday, April 17, 2015 at 7:00pm the Public Meeting is open to all guests. Chapters of the sorority who have excelled in philanthropic programming and demonstrated service throughout the region will be honored at the Awards and Achievements Banquet on 2015 7:00 pm. This will be the focal point of the celebratory activities. The conference will conclude with a Prayer Breakfast Sunday morning at 9:30am.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was organized on November 12, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana by seven educators. The group became an incorporated national collegiate sorority on December 30, 1929, when a charter was granted to Alpha chapter at Butler University.
