The event will allow Hamilton residents to talk to their favorite authors and to buy signed copies as a part of the afternoon celebration, according to a PLCH prepared release. Dr. Brackett is being honored for his recent book, Suffer the Little Children, a crime thriller set in Over The Rhine, against the backdrop of racial and class tensions stirred up by gentrification in OTR. Other issues like human trafficking in the Queen City emerge in this mystery, where little Black girls are being grabbed off the street, and the protagonist Iraq war veteran Ray King is given the task of trying to find the culprit after his girlfriend’s daughter is kidnapped. “I am happy and honored to receive this recognition,” The Hamilton County All-Star Authors event is sponsored by the Ohioana Library Association, based in Columbus. The Ohioana Association was founded in 1929 by then First Lady of Ohio Martha Kinney Cooper, a native of Cincinnati.
