PENNSAUKEN, N.J. - April 8, 2015 - PRLog -- Chemical injection is critical to the oil field production process and the second highest operational expense.  During this process, chemicals are pumped at high pressure into a well to mitigate a variety of issues (paraffin or scale reduction, H2S mitigation, corrosion inhibitors).

If executed properly, chemical injection can enhance oil production and greatly reduce operating expenses. However, as the process is largely unmonitored and uncontrolled (often managed with simple timers which are difficult to set optimally), it is often not optimally set correctly.  As a result, the chemical dosing amount can be wrong.  Under dosing can damage equipment and require premature reworks while overdosing can result in over-expenditures of tens of thousands of dollars annually.
