Phantom of the Opera Star to Perform in Concert with FGO Young Artists

Broadway Sensation Lisa Vroman to Perform Concert of Broadway and Opera Classics with FGO Young Artists

MIAMI - April 8, 2015 - PRLog -- Florida Grand Opera (FGO), along with the Saint Martha – Yamaha 2014-2015 Concert Series, is proud to welcome world-renowned Broadway star Lisa Vroman to Miami for a one-night-only concert. This concert, which will be held at Barry University at 8pm on April 17, will feature Broadway and opera hits sung by Vroman and members of FGO’s Young Artist Program.

"It is an honor for our Young Artists to be invited to participate in the Saint Martha - Yamaha 2014-2015 Concert Series," says Susan T. Danis, General Director & CEO of Florida Grand Opera.

"Add to that the likes of Broadway star Lisa Vroman, and a wonderful evening of entertainment awaits Miami," she continues. "I hope all of our opera patrons will come out to hear our Young Artists in a very different setting and enjoy Lisa's amazing talent."

From Broadway to opera, on stage and in concert, Ms. Vroman has established herself as one of America's most versatile voices. Ms. Vroman starred for several years on Broadway as Christine Daaé in Weber’s The Phantom of the Opera. Described as a “musical and theatrical marvel” by the San Francisco Chronicle, she garnered Theatre Critic's awards for the role in a record breaking run in San Francisco, as well as a return engagement at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.

No stranger to operatic roles, Ms. Vroman made her New Jersey Opera debut as Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus (directed by Ira Siff) replacing Metropolitan Opera soprano Ruth Ann Swenson; performed the role of Birdie in Regina with Utah Opera, conducted by Keith Lockhart; and premiered and recorded two comic operas by composers John Musto (Bastianello) and William Bolcom (Lucrezia) with the New York Festival of Song.

The night will consist of a wide variety of repertoire sung by Vroman, FGO’s Young Artists, and fun musical collaborations between the two. Audiences can look forward to such popular Broadway and opera hits as “I Feel Pretty,” “Siempre en mi Corazon,” All I Ask of You,” and “I Got Rhythm,” among other crowd-pleasers.
