Rural Sourcing Hosts Inaugural Hackathon with SouthSounds Music Festival

MOBILE, Ala. - April 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Rural Sourcing, Inc. (RSI), a leading domestic IT outsourcing company, is excited to announce its first annual RSI Hackathon with SouthSounds Music Festival on April 10, 2015 at Café 615 from 12:00 – 5:00 pm.

“We’re thrilled that RSI and SouthSounds have brought this creative forum to Mobile to not only showcase our up-and-coming talent pool but also demonstrate the potential opportunities that lay ahead for these students,” said Mayor Sandy Stimpson.

This superhero-inspired hackathon will feature eight teams of 3 - 4 local college students. Each team will be given four hours to create a mobile website for a project that has yet to be revealed. Following a presentation to a panel of judges, the winners of the event will receive a paid internship at RSI.

The panel of judges include Patrick Davis, president of Makerspace, Monty Hamilton, CEO of Rural Sourcing, Emily Hayes, co-founder of SouthSounds Music Festival, Sandy Stimpson, mayor of Mobile and Jeff Yeagar, area manager, IT at AMN/NS Calvert.

“The level of participation for our first event in Mobile has far exceeded our expectations,” said Margaux Kaynard, vice president of human resources. “We’re excited that the community has embraced this event and are looking forward to the final results.”
