Care More To Deliver Over 150 Care Packages to Homeless of Philadelphia

April 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Care More (http://www.letscaremore.com/), an organization dedicated to encouraging others to selflessly give back and pay it forward through service, will be delivering care packages to the homeless men and women of Philadelphia on Saturday, April 11 at Love Park.

“Homelessness is an issue that needs to be resolved everywhere,” said Mercedes Smith, Founder of Care More. “After the success and support of our first event in New York, we realized that we needed to uplift and bring hope to those in need throughout various cities. With extensive research and the support from our amazing donors, we decided to launch a summer long tour to deliver care packages to the homeless of Philadelphia, Newark, Chicago and Atlanta. Our first stop is the City of Brotherly Love and we can’t wait to show these men and women that there is hope in the midst of their darkness.”

Each package will contain travel size toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, deodorant, q-tips, wet wipes, lotion, water, nutrition bars and information on local coalitions and shelters. Parcels will be ‘packed with love’ and will include handwritten notes in hopes to encourage and uplift.

The participants will meet at 12pm EST at LOVE PARK (1599 John F Kennedy Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19103) to be assigned to groups. At 12:30 PM sharp, each group will head out to their designated target area and deliver care packages to every homeless individual they encounter during their route. All groups will begin to make their way back to LOVE PARK at 2:30 PM, where there will be an hour of discussion and reflection.
