Fort Wayne City Council At-Large Candidate Cathy Cross Receives Important AFL-CIO Endorsement

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - April 7, 2015 - PRLog -- With less than one month before Fort Wayne City Council elections, at-large candidate Cathy Cross has secured the endorsement of one of the area's largest labor organizations, the Northeast Indiana Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO.

“I'm thrilled to have received this endorsement from an organization known for standing up for workers and their families,” said Cross. “As the candidate who promises to bring a citizen's perspective to the city council, the endorsement by the Northeast Indiana Central Labor Council is perfectly aligned with the work I'd like to do for Fort Wayne's workers and its families.”

The organization considered each candidate on the merits of responses to a survey it distributed to all candidates. The endorsement will be shared with affiliated unions, fraternally associated unions, and federations in the district.

"Whenever I talk with the people of Fort Wayne, I hear the same things over and over again," said Cross. "Attention to our infrastructure is so important. Our streets and sideways, roads, bridges - they are all in need of attention. Addressing these deficiencies is one of the things I vow to concentrate on, if elected. It would be good for Fort Wayne and good for workers."

The Democratic primary is on May 5.
