Conservatives hold the key to a strong employment market

 
LONDON - April 7, 2015 - PRLog -- With just under 5 weeks left until the UK General Election, parties are now in full campaign mood and opinion polls are putting the two main parties neck to neck. The current government has seen UK employment rise to its highest rate since before the recession. However, who holds the key to building a stronger employment market?

Maple Resourcing undertook an online survey asking people to vote on which political party they feel have the strongest policies on employment.

Which party did the best?

The Conservative party performed the best, taking 43.2% of the votes, followed by Labour with 25.0% and Liberal Democrats coming in third place with 15.9% of the votes.

Reasons why?

The policies that people feel will help maintain a strong employment market are: increasing the minimum wage, creating more apprenticeships and continuing to offer support for businesses to grow.

Who will be voting?

Of those who responded, 88.6% said they would be voting, 2.3% said they would not vote and 9.3% were not sure at this time. The highest respondents who answered “Yes”, were those aged between 30-49 years (56.82%), followed by those aged over 50 years (15.91%).

Respondent demographics:

104 people from the Construction, Rail and Engineering industry took part in the survey. The survey was carried out online over a period of 3 weeks during March 2015.
