Melinda S. Gentile receives FL Bar Property, Probate & Trust Law Section Lifetime Achievement Award

Gentile, a partner in the firm’s Miami office, has received The Florida Bar Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Construction Law Institute Committee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar instituted this award to recognize attorneys who throughout their careers have demonstrated exceptional service to the association’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section. Having been active in both the Construction Law Institute and Construction Law Review Course for nearly a decade, Gentile was recognized for consistently providing outstanding service to the development and practice of construction law in the state of Florida. The award was presented by Construction Law Committee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section at the 8th Annual Construction Law Institute in Orlando.

Gentile’s practice focuses on all aspects of construction law and construction dispute resolution, including the preparation and negotiation of contracts, construction liens, government procurement and bid protests as well as defect, impact, bond and insurance claims. Active in the community, Gentile is the former president of the National Association of Women in Construction – Broward County Chapter, and a member of both the Construction Association of South Florida and the Associated Builders and Contractors – East Coast Chapter. She has earned a number of prestigious rankings throughout her career, including: Chambers USA for excellence in construction law since 2006, Best Lawyer in America since 2008, Florida Super Lawyers since 2007, the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers for Construction, a Leading Lawyer in Construction in The Legal 500: United States, a Top Attorney in Florida in the American Registry, a 2013 Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers, a Woman of Vision by the Young at Art Museum and an Up and Comer by the South Florida Business Journal. Since its inception, Gentile has served as the Co-Chair of the aannual Engineering News-Record (ENR) Groundbreaking Women in Construction (GWIC) Conference, which takes place in New York City and explores the challenges women face in the construction industry.
