SAN FRANCISCO - April 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Start-up Denmark (www.startupdenmark.info), a new initiative of the Danish Government designed to attract talented entrepreneurs with world-class business ideas and YouNoodle (www.younoodle.com), a startup competition platform, today announced a partnership to discover entrepreneurs interested in building high-growth and scalable companies in Denmark. Start-up Denmark was created for non-European Union residents; there is no fundraising requirement and no need to get accepted by an accelerator. Applications are currently being accepted at www.startupdenmark.info/apply.

“Start-up Denmark is entering the marketplace at an opportune time as more countries are launching initiatives to support their national and global entrepreneurial ecosystems,” said Torsten Kolind. “We are excited to be launching this important initiative during the Global Entrepreneurship Congress. Denmark now joins the ranks of other innovative countries with unique entrepreneurial programs on YouNoodle including Chile, Malaysia and Peru. Programs like these open doors for top talent with global potential, and we are proud to be a part of this growing trend.”

Led by the Danish Ministry of Business and Growth and the Ministry of Employment, Start-up Denmark is a government-wide initiative, combining the fields of business growth with labor recruitment and retention. It is meant as a gateway for talented foreign entrepreneurs to Denmark’s vast startup opportunities. The presence of foreign entrepreneurs in Denmark creates economic growth, employment, and global startup network connections. Talented entrepreneurs reinvent industries, create jobs, and increase the competitiveness of Denmark, already one of the more agile economies in Europe.

“According to Forbes, Denmark is the #1 country to do business in. We now invite highly talented entrepreneurs and start-ups to grow their business in Denmark with “Start-up Denmark,” said Deputy Director Anders Hoffmann from The Danish Business Authority. “Denmark has a world class environment for ambitious start-ups including accelerator programs, co-working spaces, seed and venture capital firms, a highly educated, creative workforce, and a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem with lots of network opportunities.”

Admission to the program requires an online application and subsequent approval by a panel of business and technology experts. Once approved, the applicant must then qualify for a two-year residence permit, specifically designed for entrepreneurs, with the chance for a possible extension.
