Follow on Google News | Fab Five Team Assembles to Open Restaurant in Former Blue at the Topaz LocationBy: The Island Grille Gary Maresca, one of the original owners of Blue, and a well-known chef in the area, will be developing the menu and operating as restaurant manager. Joe Rizzo and Chris Zwirn, owners of Woody’s Bar-B-Q and Bull Creek Fish Camp, will contribute their business expertise and will now be partners in three successful restaurants in the area. Carla Cline is the fourth partner, bringing her knowledge of Flagler Beach and local restaurant experience with her. Lastly, David I. Alfin a successful area realtor, and highly devoted Flagler County resident, will round out this very diverse and dynamic group. They anticipate opening late this spring. “I’m looking forward to being back on the beach where I feel at home,” said Gary. “My food will consist of some of the favorites that people still often request, but I am eager to add some new menu items that I have been working on perfecting,” The Island Grille will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner offering beer and wine. Just a taste of some of their dinner items include; Hawaiian Ribeye, Wasabi Honey Horseradish Crusted Salmon, Thai Curry Rice Bowl and more They will have a room service menu available to the Topaz Hotel guests and are looking at also being able to provide poolside service to their patrons. The flavor of the menu could be considered American Fusion with Asian and Caribbean influence. The restaurant hours will be from 7am to 9pm on weekdays and open until 10pm on Friday and Saturday. End
