Sterling silver tea and coffee set in Cosmos pattern. Made by George Jensen in Copenhagen, ca. 1935. This set comprises 1 coffeepot with cover, 1 teapot with cover, 1 jug, 1 creamer, and 1 sugar with cover, all on tray.

Linen-fold motif at bottom. Covers are raised with engraved paterae and ball finials with half lobing. Handles are stained wood with carved flutes and silver mounts. Top mount terminates in trefoil tendril with central volute scroll.

An early design conceived by Johan Rohde in 1915. Examples are illustrated on pages 218 and 221 in Janet Drucker’s Georg Jensen: a Tradition of Splendid Silver (1997).

Hallmarks include designer’s monogram and model nos. 45A, 45C, and 32A. Condition is excellent with fine hand hammering and muted patina.
