Pledge Launch & Twitter Event World Premier of Trailer for new BLACK TEEN ROM­COM: ​AFTER PROM​

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - April 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Sunday, April 19th, from 6-8pm PST at Who’s’ Bad Style Salon,  615 Chester Ave. Writer/Director Myron Ward will kick off a $10,000 seed funding Indiegogo pledge launch for his nostalgic black teen rom-com feature film AFTER PROM with the Film's Trailer Official Premiere.

MYRON WARD’S goal is to produce commercial, ethnically diverse cinema for the masses. AFTER PROM will be his feature film debut as both writer and director and will serve to provide what he calls “cinematic equality in the narrative of the teenage rom-com”. AFTER PROM was inspired by films such as Sweet Sixteen, High Fidelity and Pretty In Pink.

The event will showcase the world premier of the film’s trailer on location and throughout the internet on Vimeo with a secret password revealed via twitter at 7:30pm following the hashtag #afterprom. A Q&A with Myron Ward and Cast shall be hosted shortly after, moderated by NaTesha Johnson of UPSIDE PRODUCTIONS.

AFTER PROM stars Vladimir Versailles (SIDE EFFECTS (2014), MOOZ-LUM (2010) as Deshaun and Nydia Simone (HOMECOMING (2012) as Zakiya.  AFTER PROM is a coming-of-age, black teen romantic comedy about two childhood friends on their way to separate college lives, who have sworn that if they are still virgins by Senior Prom that they’d sleep together. The film follows the hilarities of prom night as the two try to awkwardly navigate past the “Friend Zone” without destroying their friendship. The indiegogo campaign for AFTER PROM is looking to raise $10,000 of seed investment for development funds to secure the capital needed to finance the $500,000 dollar film. Funds raised will be used for pre-production expenses such as to retain legal services, cast, storyboard, produce a table-read of the script to attract investors, and more.
