SAN JOSE, Costa Rica - April 2, 2015 - PRLog -- San José, Costa Rica – April 2nd, 2015 – A few weeks ago, specifically during the 12 and 13 March 2015 weekend, the Turrialba Volcano in Costa Rica showed significant activity, putting on alert not only the people in surrounding towns but even people in cities as far as Heredia and San José due to high concentration of volcanic ashes flowing far and wide. What worries people from Costa Rica now is not whether the danger has passed, but if the emergency was properly addressed.

It is important to remember that the town of Turrialba, and the Turrialba Volcano itself are not only beautiful places for day visits and tourism, but that there is a growing enterprise area in agricultural and livestock economy, which is actually the one that suffers the most in emergencies such as what is the eruption of Volcano: what about the farms? What about livestock and cattle? What about the people that actually work the land?

It seems that the story is a bit confusing, because on one hand it is known that the president of Costa Rica, Luis Guillermo Solis paid a visit to the town of Turrialba during last November, 2014; during this he had the opportunity to meet with local farmers, entrepreneurs and workers in the area and inspect the general welfare of the economy and work place. After this visit, the president not only was pleased since it seemed that everything was fine, in spite of other volcano eruptions that have taken place over the years, but recalled that in case of any emergency the government was ready to work and maintain the welfare of the area.

However, after recent eruptions of the Turrialba Volcano during the month of March of this year, the story was a little different: the Ministry of Agriculture did inspect the area, also informed the media and the president that “there weren’t much issues” and those that were present, and were in fact taken care of by government instances. Some employers in the area however, were a little worried because their businesses, farms and other crops were in fact significantly affected. One of these investors being Rodolfo Lachner Castro.

Castro then contacted two foreign investors who had been working alongside with him: Rajesh Grover and Kapil Gulati. These two investors from India have been investing in a cattle and milk processing for a company in the area called "Ganadería Volcán Turrialba" requested a visit to the area with the President Solis, to personally review the area and report to the president firsthand the reality they were living as local entrepreneurs.

After the visit and together achieving a close observation the reality of how the recent eruptions had affected the area, confirm details with the President and propose a recovery scheme is that we can finally say:

1. The area of Turrialba is on track to be in the favorable conditions presented in November, 2014

2. The investors aforementioned, Rajesh Grover and Kapil Gulati, have successfully completed their second investment in the progress of Ganadería Volcán Turrialba.

It is indeed up until now, when the Costa Rica president makes a visit during last March 20, 2015, in the company of the foreign investors, who have taken the necessary measures to ensure crops, animal welfare and milk processing companies as well as workers of the area are taken care of and businesses are properly and smoothly getting back on their feet. If however the question remains: Why was incomplete information given to the media and the Costa Rica president regarding the Turrialba Volcano affectations after the eruptions?
