Case Study – Sheep Farm, Powys

GLOUCESTER, U.K. - April 2, 2015 - PRLog -- This period farmhouse was previously heated using an oil fired range cooker.  Following renovation work to an annex building and the construction of a workshop, the farm owner required a district heating system to provide heat to the three buildings.

We carried out a full heat loss calculation and established that a 45kW boiler would be sufficient for their needs.  The installation was to be located in a partially open barn adjoining the main house and the heat would reach the annex via an underground heat main.

Work was completed in 2 weeks, to a high standard that exceeded the customer’s expectations, and Windhager attended the site to commission and warranty the system.  An RHI compliant heat meter was fitted so that the customer could qualify for and claim the Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive for 20 years, and an MCS certificate was issued by Generate Green for the boiler.

Generate Green completed the RHI application on behalf of the customer and the customer is set to receive  just under £250,000.00 over 20 years from the Renewable Heat Incentive and on savings over oil.
