Gail E. Wright, Director of Community Health Services, Bryn Mawr Hospital, Retires After 41 Years

BRYN MAWR, Pa. - April 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Gail E. Wright, who has served as Administrative Director of Community Health and Volunteer Services with Bryn Mawr Hospital/Main Line Health for over 38 years and more recently was Director of Community Health Services, announced her retirement at a party given in her honor on March 23rd.

Ms. Andrea Gilbert, President, Bryn Mawr Hospital, praised her work, numerous affiliations and boards on which she served and her true love of enhancing the quality of care individuals across the region received, irrespective of income, age and other demographical classifications. Ms. Wright, in her role with Bryn Mawr Hospital/Main Line Health System,  worked tirelessly to partner with various constituents, including local communities, schools, county governments, other hospitals, and community organizations to address and improve the health and wellness needs of the community and to leverage the strengths of all to advocate for positive change.

In making a formal presentation to Ms. Wright, Ms. Gilbert, singled out numerous ways that the community, as well as the hospital benefitted from Ms. Wright’s unfaltering devotion and dedication through the 41 years that she served at Bryn Mawr Hospital. “Gail took the various roles that she played bringing the hospital into the lives of so many individuals, organizations and groups through the years that truly impacted the quality of life and quality of care that many received. Her involvement had great meaning and always showcased Bryn Mawr Hospital in the finest ways.”

Ms. Wright was always immersed in her daily activities focused on improving the quality of lives for people. “My passion is to help people and to help them be in a position to help themselves.”

Ms. Wright is an active member of many community organizations.  She is a former Board Member of Palm.  Her community involvement includes serving as President of ElderNet of Lower Merion and Narberth; Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Immunization Coalition; Vice Chair of the Montgomery County Immunization

Coalition; Co-Chair of the National Children’s Health Study; Co-Chair of the State Health Improvement Plan for Montgomery County;  Board Member of Community Alliance for a Safer Tomorrow in Upper Merion; and Treasurer of the Coalition for Youth of Lower Merion-Narberth.  She is a member of the Bryn Mawr

Business Association, the Main Line Chamber of Commerce, the American Public Health Association, the  Pennsylvania Association of Notaries, the American Trauma Society, the Medical Reserve Corp and is an Adjunct Faculty at LaSalle University.  She mentors students and women concerning career and school options, domestic abuse and other topics based on her life and career experiences and educational path.

She has received several honors in recognition of her commitment to improving community wellness.  Most notably, these include: 2010, the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania Achievement Award for Community Outreach and Engagement;  2009, the Community Partner Award from the American Red Cross;  2007, the Community Leadership Award from ElderNet; 2005, the Volunteer Achievement Award from the American Cancer Society;  2004, the Community Outreach Award presented by the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission; 1998, the National Honor Society in Business Administration Award presented by Eastern College.

She was born and raised on the Main Line.  She attended Bryn Mawr Elementary School, Welsh Valley Middle School and Harriton High School.  She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Eastern University.  Ms. Wright, and her husband, reside in Collegeville, PA.
