Follow on Google News | United Real Estate Celebrates World Autism Awareness Day“One of the guiding principles of United Real Estate is the belief that we need to be a positive contributor to the communities we serve,” said Peter Giese, President, United Real Estate. “With approximately 50,000 individuals diagnosed with autism turning 18 each year, there is a growing need to help these individuals successfully transition into adulthood. Autism has touched my family personally; the more time and resources we donate to autism research and support, the more we are able to help individuals on the autism spectrum succeed. We want to make a difference in this community and we believe supporting the Autism Speaks organization is the best way to help.” The eighth annual World Autism Awareness Day is April 2, 2015. Every year, autism organizations around the world celebrate the day with unique fundraising and awareness-raising events. On March 19, 2015, United Real Estate hosted a charity golf event, raising more than $5,000 for the Dallas chapter of Autism Speaks. The golf event was part of the United Real Estate Convention themed ‘CaptURE Success,’ which took place at the Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre from March 19-21, 2015. Autism affects one in 68 children with prevalence rates growing. Costing families an average of $60,000 per year, autism is the fastest-growing developmental disorder in the U.S. There is no medical detection or cure for autism.
