Digital Signature Becomes Necessary By UP Government for Some Certificate Issue

LAXMI NAGAR, India - April 1, 2015 - PRLog -- The Government of Uttar Pradesh has mandated to apply a Digital Signature, while issuing a Caste, Income or Residential Certificate. It is also mandatory for all SDMs. The law will take effect on April 1, 2015 in all the subdivisions of UP. If an officer issues a certificate using manual handwritten signatures, an appropriate action will be taken against him. The Revenue Department has declared a mandatory to this effect on Tuesday.

The Principal Secretary of revenue has written a letter to all the Commissioners and DMs (District Magistrates) of the state. He wrote that Certificates are issued through State Services Delivery Gateway via Digital Signature. Even though some SDM (Sub- Divisional Magistrates) and Officers are issuing various certificates through manual hand-written signature. There are a lot of possibilities of fraudulence due to lack of online verification of these certificates. So, it is ensured that Caste, Income and Residential Certificates could not be issued by any officers without using an applicable Digital Signature at any cost.
