Bob Gardner, of SCS Engineers Receives SWANA Landfill Management Distinguished Service Award

NORFOLK, Va. - March 31, 2015 - PRLog -- Robert Gardner,P.E., BCEE, “Bob” as his clients and peers know him, was presented with SWANA’s Landfill Management Division Distinguished Individual Award for his contributions to the field of Landfill Management. Bob received the award at SWANA’s annual SWANApaloosa conference held this year in New Orleans, LA, March 16-19.

As a Senior Vice President of SCS Engineers, Bob directs SCS’s nationwide solid waste practice, which includes landfill engineering, landfill gas/biogas management, solid waste studies, landfill environmental systems, sustainable materials management, and organics management programs. Mr. Gardner works closely with SCS’s national and regional clients.

During his 35 years at SCS, Bob has completed turn-key solid waste, hazardous waste, environmental assessment, facility design, compliance audit, energy, and other environmental projects for numerous municipalities and private companies throughout the United States. These environmental solutions mitigate water pollution, air pollution, and ground contamination, creating a safer and healthier environment for all citizens.

SWANA established its Annual Awards Program to recognize contributions to the Association, to solid waste management, and to public health and environmental protection. Each year, chapters, members and staff nominate individuals for the award. The Landfill Management Division Distinguished Individual Award is not given every year and represents the highest accolade that SWANA’s Landfill Technical Division can bestow.
