Sign of the Sandman by Tom Turner named Foreword Reviews 2014 Book of the Year Finalist

DURHAM, N.C. - March 31, 2015 - PRLog -- Sign of the Sandman, the Magic Factory’s critically acclaimed fantasy adventure novel by Tom Turner, has been honored as a finalist in the Children’s Fiction category of the 17th annual Foreword Reviews’ IndieFab Book of the Year Awards. Each year these prestigious awards shine a light on the best literary works from independent publishers, university presses, and noteworthy self-published authors.

“Readers of all ages have likened Sign of the Sandman to the classic fantasy adventure stories of children’s literature so I am thrilled that Foreword Reviews has recognized this wonderful book as an IndieFab Book of the Year Awards finalist.” said Stephen Zapotoczny, Founder & CEO of the Magic Factory. “Tom Turner spent years crafting Sign of the Sandman’s imaginative story and this recognition is validation of his hard work, patience, and extraordinary creativity.”

“Hearing that Sign of the Sandman had been selected as a finalist for Foreword Reviews’ IndieFab Book of the Year Awards was not only a terrific honor and thrill, but also one of the highlights of my writing career thus far,” said Tom Turner, author of Sign of the Sandman. “I’m excited that more readers around the world will now learn of Charlie Galen, his best friend Plug, and their incredible dream adventure.”

During the next three months, a panel of librarians and booksellers across the United States will determine the IndieFab Book of the Year award winners. Foreword Reviews will announce the winners during a program at the American Library Association Annual Conference in San Francisco on Friday, June 26, 2015. “After 17 years, our awards program has become synonymous with quality because our editors set such a high bar on the finalist round, which makes it especially tough for the judges who select the winners,” said Victoria Sutherland, publisher of Foreword Reviews.
