ST. LOUIS - March 31, 2015 - PRLog -- Eagle Bank and Trust Company of Missouri will donate $5,000 to support the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri Community Economic Development (CED) program. CED provides free legal counsel to entrepreneurs and non-profit entities, including many female and/or minority owned companies, which lack resources for basic legal services.

The CED program matches clients unable to afford legal assistance with experienced business attorneys from law firms and in-house corporate legal departments at no cost. Typical legal matters include forming legal entities, establishing employment policies and procedures, drafting contracts, complying with zoning restrictions, handling tax matters, protecting valuable intellectual property and improving corporate governance practices.

“The Community Development Program is a critical resource for those seeking to start a business and for current business owners who cannot afford legal help,” said Mike Walsh, Eagle Bank and Trust President and CEO. “Through this program, Legal Services of Eastern Missouri makes it possible for these entrepreneurs to deal with legal issues so they can generate new jobs and improve the economic health of our communities.”

In addition to providing one-on-one representation by experienced business attorneys, CED offers workshops, clinics and community roundtables to enhance understanding about business legal matters.

“We want to thank Eagle Bank for its generous $5,000 donation. The bank’s contribution will help us to provide important legal services for those clients looking to achieve the American dream by starting their own business or creating an innovative nonprofit. We truly value Eagle Bank as a wonderful partner for justice” said Dan Glazier, Executive Director and General Counsel of Legal Services of Eastern Missouri.

Those interested in obtaining legal services should contact LSEM at 314-534-4200. Legal Services of Eastern Missouri is an independent non-profit organization that provides high quality legal assistance and equal access to justice for low income people and the elderly in eastern Missouri.
