Lauren Armstrong Participates in UCREW Panel Discussion at Boston University

 
BOSTON - March 31, 2015 - PRLog -- Lauren Armstrong, a Director in Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster’s Real Estate Department and Chair of the firm’s Green Energy, Resilience and Sustainability Practice Group, recently served as the host for a UCREW Panel Discussion at Boston University. UCREW is an outreach program run by CREW Boston, New England’s premier business networking organization dedicated to advancing the achievements of women in commercial real estate, that targets college and university students interested in pursuing a career in real estate. It is designed to help students learn about networking fundamentals, offer them powerful career resources, and provide relationship-building opportunities in career development.

Lauren and the program’s panelists spoke to 31 students in the undergraduate management program at Boston University. Other panelists present for the discussion included Martha Faigen of Reimer & Braunstein LLP, Allyson Callahan of Turner Construction, Gledis Memelli of Bank of America, and Courtney Agar of Harvard Management Company.

Each panelist discussed their unique background including education, career development, and their current typical daily workload. Areas of commercial real estate that were discussed include development, construction, finance, accounting, management, brokerage, and law. Panelists gave industry tips on what potential employers may be looking for, suggestions on a successful internship, networking advice, and points of entry into commercial real estate industry. This is the fourth year this panel has presented at BU, and one of the students in the room has applied for the CREW Boston scholarship.
