Scannable Sweets! Restaurant Group Celebrates By Cooking Up Edible Qr Codes

MANCHESTER, U.K. - March 31, 2015 - PRLog -- An Italian restaurant group has celebrated commencing its tenth year in business by giving tech-savvy customers a treat with some scannable dishes.

Pesto, whose Pesto at the Dibbinsdale Inn restaurant is situated on Dibbinsdale Road in Bromborough, added edible QR codes to a select number of dishes during one lunch service to give some diners an added interactive experience whilst enjoying their meal.

When scanned by a smartphone, these codes took diners straight to a special web page featuring recipes for some of Pesto’s most popular dishes.

Deputy manager Cat Mealor said: “Customers often ask how they can recreate the Pesto experience at home and this was a great way to help our customers do exactly this, whilst adding a fun twist to their meal.”

Co-owners Neil Gatt and Sara Edwards opened their first Pesto restaurant in 2006 and were one of the first restaurant groups to bring the idea of authentic Italian piattini to the UK, giving customers the chance to enjoy a number of smaller Italian dishes during one meal.

Sara Edwards comments: “We wanted to do something quirky to mark going into our tenth year of trading and as our concept is all about sharing our dishes with friends and family, we thought sharing some of our cherished recipes with our customers in this way was perfect!”
