ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - March 31, 2015 - PRLog -- The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Business District will hold its First Annual Open House on Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The city of St. Petersburg is supporting the event. The mayor’s office issued a statement of support saying that the city was pleased to support the MLK Business District’s Open House in that “it provides a unique opportunity to showcase the wide range of businesses along the MLK corridor—reflective of the diversity, creativity, and innovative spirit of its namesake.”

Local businesses are building awareness of the diverse businesses in the District, which extends from 26th Avenue South to 34th Avenue North—from Magnolia Heights in the north, to Lake Maggiore Shores and Harbordale in the south. The District is home to restaurants, antique and furniture stores, framing and art stores, used books, acupuncture and beauty salons, as well as a dog grooming salon and thrift store.

Participating businesses include Cimino Gallery and Custom Picture Framing (2511 Dr. MLK Jr. St N), ImpulseCliCs.com (2323 Dr. MLK Jr. St N), St. Petersburg Jazzercise (2501 Dr. MLK Jr. St N), Tampa Bay Furnishings (3034 Dr. MLK Jr. St N), Salty Dog Grooming (2319 Dr. MLK Jr. St N), Manely Hair (2321 Dr. MLK Jr. St N), and St. PetersBARK (2435 Dr. MLK Jr. St N). Special discounts and free samples for Open House visitors will also be available at the various businesses.

Cimino Gallery owner, Justen Cimino, aims to strengthen the District’s presence in the community. He hopes the Open House will further his goal. “I want to meet my neighbors, and let them know that I am here to help them with any framing projects they need—whether it’s diplomas, precious family memorabilia, or fine art.” Visitors to Cimino Gallery will see Justen’s framing work on display.

St. Petersburg Jazzercise owner and instructor, Bonnie Capra, has revamped her class schedule. “We have free child care, and our instructors are fabulous. I want to show people what Jazzercise is—it really is a beat-pumping, pulse-pounding fitness program that gives you fast results as you get in shape. The Open House is a great chance for our community to see what a great fitness resource we are.”

ImpulseClicCs.com has eyewear with a unique feature of allowing the wearer to easily take off their readers or sunglasses, or any other glasses, and hang the glasses around their necks.
