Open Source Educational Scheduling Software Graduates

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - March 30, 2015 - PRLog -- UniTime, the comprehensive educational scheduling software solution, has become a sponsored project of the Apereo Foundation. UniTime supports the development of course or examination timetables, and incorporates the latest research on solution algorithms designed to efficiently solve complex timetabling problems. It is a distributed system that allows multiple university and departmental schedule managers to coordinate efforts to build and modify a schedule.

UniTime is the latest project to graduate from the Apereo Foundation Incubation Program. The Program is designed to ensure that software meets rigorous criteria that encourages adoption by higher education institutions. UniTime has a growing number of adoptions worldwide that include leading US universities, such as Purdue, together with schools in Peru, the Czech Republic, Poland and Kuwait.

Ian Dolphin, Apereo Foundation Executive Director, welcomed UniTime. "Apereo is establishing itself as the global network where higher education collaborates to build the solutions it needs. UniTime has a proven track record at major institutions. Apereo looks forward to ensuring UniTime gets the exposure it deserves in higher education globally."

Tomáš Müller, UniTime's Technical Lead, said: "This is great news for the UniTime project. We are looking forward to being a part of the Apereo family. This will be a great asset in our continuous effort to grow the community around UniTime."
