Total Access Urgent Care and Farmers Insurance to Host Blood Drive on April 9th

ST. LOUIS - March 30, 2015 - PRLog -- One person needs blood every two seconds.  More than 4.5 million patients need blood transfusions each year in the United States and Canada. Blood is in high demand and each person that donates can save up to three lives. The process is easy and the actual donation process for a pint of blood only takes eight to 10 minutes. The entire process of a miniature physical, paperwork, and donation takes about one hour. It is incredible to think that one hour can save three lives.

Walk-ins are welcome and will be accepted after those with appointments. Donors need to show photo ID at check-in.

Tips for giving blood:

· Drink plenty of fluids before and after scheduled donation
· Eat a light breakfast or lunch prior to donation
· Bring a list of any medications you are currently taking
· Enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments after your donation
· Do not exercise or lift heavy objects for 5 hours after blood donation
