Dermatology Associates of Oklahoma Announces Agreement to Provide Dermatology Care to Veterans

MUSKOGEE, Okla. - March 30, 2015 - PRLog -- Dermatology Associates of Oklahoma (DAO) is pleased to announce that they have entered into an agreement with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to provide dermatology care to Veterans.  The agreement enables Veterans to receive care from Dermatology Associates of Oklahoma in:

MUSKOGEE at 3111 Azalea Park Drive, in the University Heights Center between Route 69 and the West Shawnee Bypass

TAHLEQUAH at 1201 East Ross Bypass in the Bypass Clinic between South Cedar Place and South Harrison Avenue/Ransten Drive

TULSA at 6717 South Yale Avenue, in the Oak Cliff Terrace Office Building between East 67th Street and East 68th Street

Prior to this agreement, Veterans that required dermatology care in the Region had to choose between trekking over two hours to Oklahoma City or traveling out of State to Fort Smith, Arkansas.

"We agreed to fill the void as soon as we were contacted by the VA," said Nevin, "and informed about the dilema Veterans faced in the community due to a lack of access to dermatology providers".

Too many Veterans like U.S. Marine Corp retired Gunnery Sgt. Ray Lancaster who served our Country for 22years faced impediments to dermatology care prior to the signing of this agreement.  In fact, prior to this agreemnet, Lancaster would have faced a 200 mile round trip commute if he wanted to receive dermatology care.

"I'm very pleased to have access to a dermatology practice," said Lancaster, "and I believe that they have done a great job with my care."

In addition to Veterans, Dermatology Associates of Oklahoma welcome new patients and appointments can be scheduled by calling (918) 932-1186. The clinic accepts most commercial insurance plans including AETNA, COVENTRY and FIRST HEALTH in addition to Medicare, Medicaid and SoonerCare.

"Our decision to provide Veterans with care was not made because we were required to," said Nevin, "the decision was made because it was the right thing to do for our Veterans!"
