Event Synopsis:

Companies operating internationally face a conflicting and confusing set of foreign and domestic legal and regulatory requirements. Agencies regulating financial services are increasingly co-operating to scrutinize such companies. The potential risk of non-compliance increases with global integration of financial transactions and markets. These include the Financial Services Authority in the UK, the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) in Germany, the Swiss Financial Markets Supervisory Authority (FINMA), and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority; among others.  Additionally, the extra-territorial application of a variety of U.S. laws, such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and the RICO mandate a coordinated, global approach when a company responds to an incident or inquiry.  Companies operating in multiple jurisdictions simultaneously face unique challenges when conducting internal investigations, and steps taken at the outset require thoughtful attention to those issues.

During this two hour webinar, sponsored by The Knowledge Group, a panel of skilled practitioners will share lessons learned and help the audience in Un-covering the Secrets to Starting a Cross-Border Investigation.

This 2-hour webcast will discuss the following key provisions:

• Recent Cross-Border Claims

• Cross-Border Investigation Protocols

• Cross-Border Investigation: Advantages and Challenges

• Risks: Investigative Failure / Ineffective Investigation

• Cross-Border Risk Policies and Procedures
