SAN MATEO, Calif. - March 28, 2015 - PRLog -- FOR APRIL FOOLS' DAY AND FOR NATIONAL POETRY MONTH, TOO...

INSTEAD OF JUST DOING PRACTICAL JOKES FOR APRIL FOOLS' DAY...SEND THEM SOME FUNNY AND SATIRICAL POEMS FROM A COLLECTION OF POEMS CALLED “CRAZY ROBERT’S POEMS AND POTENTIAL SONG LYRICS”

by Robert M. Barrows (Now available on Amazon for a dollar)

April 1st is April Fools' Day and April 1st is the start of National Poetry Month, too.

“The tradition of April Fools' Day is to play some practical jokes on people, but practical jokes aren’t really easy to plan and they don’t always work out so well, and they’re not always appreciated either," says Robert Barrows of San Mateo, California. “So instead of trying to play a practical joke on someone for April Fools’ Day, here is another thing you can do, he says. If it fits, you can send them some funny and satirical poems from a book he wrote called ‘Crazy Robert’s Poems and Potential Song Lyrics.’”

“Not all the poems are funny, says Barrows, some of the poems are serious, too, but some of the poems may be great for some interesting April Fools’ Day jokes because some of the poems are very poignant about some very common topics like politics, exercise, stargazing, love and sex and even planning your epitaph."

HERE IS SOME INFORMATION ABOUT SOME OF THE POEMS THAT COULD BE USED FOR SOME FUNNY APRIL FOOLS’ DAY PRANKING:

1) FOR POLITICAL WANNABES:

If you know any wannabe politicians who might be planning to run for office,  you can send them the book and tell them about a poem called “Run For Office.”

Some of the lines go like this:

“Out of work, need a job? Run For Office.

Big debts, Lots of Sex?  Run For Office.”

(Barrows also co-wrote a song version of Run For Office. You can hear a free clip of the song version of Run For Office at www.barrows.com/music.html and there is also a link on that page where you can download the song for 99 cents on iTunes.)

2) FOR WORKOUT FANATICS:

If you know any people who always who tell you about how much they exercise, or how much they hate to exercise, you can send them the book and tell them about a poem called “She Funks Like an Aerobics Instructor-2-3-4,” and you can tell them they can work out to it, too-2-3-4.

3) FOR STAR GAZERS:

For people who ponder the origins of the universe and always debate the Big Bang theory or the Big Bang TV show, you can send them the book and tell them about a poem called “Cosmolo...Gee”

Cosmolo..Gee is a poem about the mysteries of the origin of the universe, and the last two lines of Cosmolo...Gee go like this:

“Imagine if we can someday go back to the beginning of time and we hear someone say “Let there be Light”

4) FOR SAILORS:

If you know any sailors, you can send them the book and tell them about a poem called  “Anchors Away” (not to be confused with the Navy Song Anchors Aweigh.)

The poem Anchors Away ends like this...

”She was the kind of mermaid you dreamed about,

How was I to know she was male?”

5) FOR PEOPLE PLANNING THEIR EPITAPH  (By the way, Plan your Epitaph Day is also in April, it’s April 6th.)

So if you know anybody who is obsessed with planning their epitaph, you can send them the book and tell them about a poem called Epitaph.

It goes like this:

“I called 911,

but no one come,

so I dialed 976

and had some fun”

Then, if you are still not comfortable playing practical jokes or sending someone a poem as a joke for April Fools’ Day, you can just enjoy the book since it’s National Poetry Month anyway.
