MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - March 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Home of Oscar winner Denzel Washington and Hip Hop Mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, urban visionary artist Todd “Cozy 3” Roberts hails from Mount Vernon, NY. Growing up on the outskirts of New York City, in an era where dreams and reality did not blend harmoniously, Cozy 3 devised a style to revolutionize the way he perceived the marriage between his love for “gritty city” New York and his passion for the arts. His artistic career started around 2006 with influences and inspirations from legends as John Coltrane, Eric Dolphy, Rakim, Parliament Funkadelic, A Tribe Called Quest, Pete Rock, and Salvador Dali, just to name a few. Cozy 3 is inspired merely by the simplicity of music and art found within life experiences. He often escapes by creating alternate realities, referred to as “Hyper-reality”, with his art; defining these realities as intellectual freedoms using elements of physical, spiritual and emotional realms.

For Cozy 3, the creation of these realities is his way to express his uniqueness as an individual in this world. With influences of the avant-garde, Cozy 3 is able to create a soulfully eclectic world by combining diversified music genres with Science Fiction, Abstract Expressionism and Afro-Futurism. Rhyming since the age of 11, Cozy 3 studied lyric creativity from the likes of Hip Hop Legends of the 1990s-TuPac Shakur, Biggie Smalls, and Wu-Tang Clan. Realizing he had a true talent for rhyming and poetry, he decided to stick with it.

To Cozy 3, Urban culture is a knowledge mixture of inner city living and the five elements of Hip Hop: Break Dancing, Graffiti Art, DJ’ing, and of course the art of Rap. New York City culture is a mix of experimental music/film, art, fashion, nightlife, and cuisines from all over the world in a population of 8 million people. Although the city is heavily populated, there is always room for individual identities.

The blending of these cultures is the foundation of his creations. An eclectic mixture of Hip Hop, Jazz, Electronica, Funk and Blues his style is also artistically inclined to the likes of Salvador Dali, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and East Village Arts genre. This mixology of ingenious expressions is what Todd refers to as “Cozy 3”.  Cozy 3 is actually a one-man group made up of three alter egos. The group consists of MC Incognito (deep voice), MC Cozy T (middle voice), and MC Only 1 (higher voice). Egos that Todd believes are embedded within us all; how we perceive life, how we perceive our true realities and ourselves - a blend of the two. Cozy 3 released his debut single “Space Opera” off his album Soundwaves from the Cozy Ship in 2012. Making instant waves locally and online, Cozy 3’s music and art pieces have been described as “Abstract Hip Hop”. Cozy 3 is more than personas, but the ideology behind a movement.

Currently, Cozy 3 is focusing on exhibiting his works through his company Cozy Cosmic. Cozy Cosmic consists of Cozy 3’s musical and artistic creations. Building a brand to become a worldwide entity using art, music, fashion, design and technology, many compare his style to Jonathan Ive, Andy Warhol infused with Pharrell and Elon Musk. Cozy is ushering in a new artistic lifestyle laying down the prototype for generations to come. Cozy 3 is also working on his next mixtape entitled New York Art House that is due to be released in the near future.
