Shore Builders Announces Member Appointment as NAHB Officer

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - March 27, 2015 - PRLog -- Shore Builders Association would like to congratulate long-time member Mike Kurpiel on his appointment to the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) BUILD-PAC Committee as Associate Vice Chairman for 2015.  The appointment was announced last month at the conclusion of the NAHB International Builders Show (IBS) in Las Vegas and is the first time a member of New Jersey Builders Association (NJBA) has held a BUILD-PAC officer position since 1990.  In addition, Mike is the first Associate Member of the organization nationwide to have served in all three Associate leadership roles at the national level having previously served as National Associate Vice President in 2009 & 2010 and as Associate Members Committee Chairman in 2011.

According to Gina Woolley, Executive Officer of Shore Builders Association, “We are always so proud of our local members who excel at the state and national levels.  Mike has shown a fierce dedication with his involvement in NAHB and his work at the national level has without a doubt helped to move our industry forward locally, as well as at the state level.”

As Vice Chair of the BUILD-PAC Committee, Mike will assist in raising the funds needed to contribute to pro-housing legislation and to support issues which help provide opportunities to builders and associates locally, as well as at state and federal levels.   He will be working with the Trustees in each states association to provide the tools they need to increase awareness and educate members on fundraising and why these efforts are critical to the overall success of every individual in the industry.

“Having just completed my term as Chair of the Membership Committee at NAHB, where I provided tools and motivation for local associations to increase membership, it was a natural desire to continue my work with NAHB on a new committee.  I’m very excited to be able to work with the Chair and other members of the BUILD-PAC Committee nationally to aid in further advancing our pro-housing initiatives,” Mike explains.  With a long history of involvement in the industry, he was the first associate member from NJBA to chair two committees, Membership & Associates, and he was also the first associate to serve more than one year on NAHB’s Executive Board.  His accomplishments with NJBA are equally impressive, having been the first associate member to achieve Life Director status and receive four awards nationally.  Mike was also inducted into The Society of Honored Associates, NAHB’s Hall of Fame for associate members.

Shore Builders Association of Central New Jersey, Inc. (SBACNJ) is a professional trade association covering Monmouth, Ocean, Mercer and Middlesex counties comprised of builders, developers, subcontractors, suppliers, and service-oriented businesses.
