March 27, 2015 - PRLog -- In Your Self-Sabotage Survival Guide, Karen Berg states that people who want to be successful in business and in life have to move from self-sabotage to reinvention. They can no longer blame other people or outside circumstances; they must look at themselves to determine what they are doing that is holding them back. Self-sabotage comes in many forms, and most people do not even realize they are participating in it. They are afraid to step out of their comfort zones, to speak up, to move forward, and as a result, they become stalled in their careers. They send off signals, usually unintentionally, through their choice of attire, their postures, and their body language that they are not successful people and do not have aspirations for success. In doing so, they self-sabotage. However, there are cures for self-sabotage, and most only require a little effort, recognition, and a change in outlook.

A number of elements involved in self-sabotage can be improved upon to turn a person's life around:

*Attitude--when someone's attitude is self-defeating, it comes out in his or her actions. People can change their attitudes by adjusting the way they look at things and the way they react to circumstances. Sometimes what happens cannot be helped, but the way people deal with what happens can.

*Focus--not being prepared and not paying attention to details can be huge factors in self-sabotage.

*Appearance--the way people look at others can affect the way people are treated and can even affect their chances for new opportunities. Appropriate dress and posture are important elements in the battle against self-sabotage.

*Image--self-sabotage results when people do not exercise control over their social media images.

*Voice--being afraid to speak up and contribute ideas results in self-sabotage. Communication is the key to successful career growth.

*Aptitude--learning and growing intellectually can help people overcome their self-sabotage. Developing a sense of curiosity contributes significantly to an individual's chances for success.

*Ambition--lacking the energy to move forward or step out of one's comfort zone leads to self-sabotage. Ambition drives success.

*Faith--faith in oneself is the glue that ties all the other elements together.
