By: Comix at Foxwoods Griffin is a first generation American-born comedian/actor who, in 2003, made the decision to quit his job and plunge headfirst into making comedy his full-time occupation. Since his decision to make the career switch, Griffin has made a seismic impact within the entertainment industry. When Griffin is on-stage, simply put, there are no gimmicks in his act: just straightforward stand-up jam-packed with witty observations and personal anecdotes. With his multicultural background, a Central American-Caribbean mother, a father of European descent, Erik blends well into the North American landscape particularly in this era of cultural diversity. Griffin’s routine is full of hilarious annotations about life, love and self-evaluation, as he brings together all ages and ethnic backgrounds, which makes for a raucously good time. Griffin first gained national exposure in 2007 when he was featured in the ALMA nominated “Payaso Comedy Slam,” which was seen on Showtime and on Comedy Central. It was during the “Payaso Comedy Slam” where Griffin was catapulted into the stratosphere of “elite” stand-up acts and cemented himself as one of the true power-performers on the comedy scene today. In 2008, following Griffin’s standout performance in ‘07, he was featured at the “Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival” where his hilarious performance received rave reviews. That same year, Griffin headlined the NACA National Conference where he, along with 80 other acts, performed in front of representatives from 400 colleges and universities. Griffin has since been featured on “Live at Gotham” on Comedy Central, “Last Comic Driving” on NBC, “Comics Without Borders” on Showtime, as well as the nationally syndicated, “Comics Unleashed.” In 2011 Griffin joined the cast of a new Comedy Central series entitled, “Workaholics.” In 2013 Griffin released his debut comedy album entitled, “Technical Foul: Volume One” and also stared in his own Comedy Central Presents Half-Hour Stand-Up Special. Mostly recently, Erik was seen on “Surviving the Holidays” with Lewis Black on the History Channel. He was also featured in the Tribeca Film Festival Documentary, “Just Like Us,” and was a guest star on the hit TNT show, “Franklin & Bash.” Tickets are currently available for presale through Comix and Ticketmaster.
