PANAMA CITY - March 26, 2015 - PRLog -- Knightsbridge International School is a K-12 school in Panama that is working with e-NABLE, an organization that provides 3D printed hands for children in need. Knightsbridge’s young students are fundraising through CrowdBolster to purchase a 3D printer. Currently, the students use a borrowed printer and they want to have one in their classroom to expand their capability of making more hands faster and more efficiently. So far the 3D printed hands Knightsbridge has made have been for children overseas, but that is changing this month.

Knightsbridge is working with e-NABLE and CrowdBolster to facilitate the very first 3D printed hand for a child in Panama. Thirteen year old Angel Moreno was born missing the fingers of both his hands. Knightsbridge will be meeting with Angel on Monday to measure him for a 3D printed hand using cutting edge technology. The technology used will be the latest in 3D printing prosthetic hand design and is a bit experimental. Angel will be fitted with the new hand and if the hand works for him, he will be fitted for his other hand. Angel will be one of the earliest adopters of this style of 3D printed hand in the world.

CrowdBolster is assisting Knightsbridge in fundraising as well as contributing funds to the project directly from our office. We will be bringing Angel from Chitre to Panama City (3 hours) for the fitting. We could not be happier with the situation and will have updates on our website to keep everyone informed of the progress.

Knightsbridge’s young students have been very active in the support of the e-NABLE organization. As an international school with children of many nationalities they have been translating the e-NABLE documentation to six languages. On Wednesday the 25th they, with their teacher Mickey Keats and the principal of the school, attended Technology Showcase 2015 at the International School of Panama and demonstrated how 3D printers work with examples of e-NABLE hands in various sizes and colors.

For more information or to assist with funding Knightsbridge International School, you can go to their campaign and contribute - even a small amount will help make their goal a reality - to continue to create 3D printed hands for children in the community and around the world.
